What We Include and Why

Whole Goat Milk

Whole goat milk is the foundation of Baby Steps goat milk formula. It naturally provides proteins, fats, lactose, vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that contribute to infant nutrition.

Current research suggests that goat milk proteins form a softer curd in the stomach compared with cow’s milk.

GOS Prebiotics

Galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS) are prebiotic bres included to support a balanced gut environment.

GOS are structurally similar to certain compounds naturally found in breastmilk. Current research suggests that prebiotics may support the growth of benecial gut bacteria as part of normal digestive function.

Including GOS helps contribute to the overall nutritional composition of the formula.

DHA and ARA

DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid) and ARA (Arachidonic Acid) are long-chain omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids included in the formulation.

The DHA used in Baby Steps is sourced from microalgae rather than sh oils. DHA and ARA are naturally present in breastmilk and are recognised components of infant nutrition.

Current research suggests these fatty acids contribute to normal brain and eye development during infancy.

Lactose

Lactose is the primary carbohydrate in Baby Steps goat milk formula.

It is the same primary carbohydrate naturally found in breastmilk and provides a source of energy for growing infants.

Lactose also contributes to the taste and nutritional balance of the formula while supporting the absorption of certain nutrients, including calcium.

Vitamins and Minerals

Baby Steps contains a carefully balanced blend of vitamins and minerals, including:
● Calcium
● Iron
● Zinc
● Magnesium
● Potassium
● Vitamin A
● Vitamin C
● Vitamin D
● Vitamin E
● B Vitamins

These nutrients contribute to normal growth, immune function, energy metabolism, and overall wellbeing during infancy.

What We Don't Include

At Baby Steps, we believe that what we leave out is just as important as what we put in.

Baby Steps goat milk formula does not contain palm oil.
Instead, the fat blend is designed to provide appropriate nutrition without relying on palm-derived oils.

No Articial Flavours

No Unnecessary Additives
Every ingredient serves a specic nutritional purpose within the formulation. Ingredients that do not contribute to the intended nutritional prole are not included.

Goat Milk vs Cow's Milk: Understanding the Protein Structure

Parents frequently compare goat milk and cow's milk when researching infant formula.
One important difference relates to protein structure.

A2 Beta-Casein
Goat milk naturally contains predominantly A2 beta-casein protein.
Current research suggests that protein composition may inuence how milk proteins behave during digestion.

Smaller Fat Globules
Goat milk contains naturally smaller fat globules than cow's milk.
Smaller fat globules provide greater surface area relative to their size, which may inuence digestion and nutrient utilisation.

Softer Curd Formation
Goat milk proteins typically form a softer curd in the stomach.
Current research suggests that softer curd formation may contribute to digestive comfort for some infants.
These characteristics are often cited when parents explore formula options for babies who appear sensitive to cow’s milk formulas.

Suitable For

Baby Steps goat milk formula may be suitable for:
● Babies transitioning from breastfeeding
● Babies receiving mixed feeding
● Babies who appear unsettled on cow’s milk formula
● Babies with mild cow's milk sensitivity where goat milk has been recommended by a healthcare professional
● Parents seeking a goat milk-based formula option

Important Note
Baby Steps goat milk formula is not suitable for babies with a diagnosed cow's milk protein allergy (CMPA).
Goat milk proteins share similarities with cow's milk proteins, and specialist guidance should always be sought when allergy concerns exist.
